L.P. Dutton Trout Hatchery

Group and Individual tours, spectacular audio-visual show in visitor centre theatrette, hand feed the trout or see the aquarium display with trout, brilliant blue crayfish, eels and endangered freshwater species. You can also take a nature stroll along the Serpentine River with the chance to feed ‘wild’ trout or just relax beside the cascading cool waters. Guided tours operate everyday from 9am – 4pm.

Located 75km east of Armidale on the Waterfall Way, the trout hatchery is situated on the beautiful Serpentine River, right next door to the New England National Park.
